About this Airport

Rand Airport is a historic airport located in Germiston, Johannesburg, South Africa. Originally built in 1921, it served as Johannesburg's main airport until it was replaced by OR Tambo International Airport in 1952. Today, Rand Airport is primarily used for general aviation and pilot training. It features two runways (RWY 11/29 & RWY 17/35) and can accommodate small to medium-sized aircraft. The airport also has a variety of aviation-related businesses on its premises, including aircraft maintenance and refurbishment services, as well as several aviation-themed restaurants and a museum.
